The Central Highlight Tour (5 days 4 nights)
Hue – DMZ – Phong Nha Caves – Khe Sanh – A Luoi- Prao- Hoi An
*Day 1: Hue- DMZ- Phong Nha_Ke Bang National Park.
– Heading up Quang Tri province to visit the former battle in summer 1972 with some historical relics: Long Hung Church, Quang Tri ancient citadel. Then we take small country road down the beautiful coast foad to Vinh Moc tunnel. After exploring the Vinh Moc tunnels,we will stop at Ben Hai river and Hien Luong beidgewhere VietNam was devided North and South by Geneve convention in 1954-DMZ. Having lunch before we head up the eastern branch of Ho Chi Minh trail to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park.
Tonight’s accommodation is hotel or homestay.
*Day 2: Exploring Phong Nha_ Ke Bang national park and Paradise Cave
Being awaked by the sounds of Nature.
After having a Vietnamese Coffee and breakfast we take a boat ride into the manificent Phong Nha Limestone cave, the second-longest water caves in the world. In the afternoon we will drive through the National Park to explore the latest cave explored in 2007 by a hunter-one of the biggest ones in the world : Paradise Cave.
*Day 3: Phong Nha tour to Ke Sanh.
-Today’s ride is once-in-a lifetime opportunity.
We will start at the begining of the western branch of Ho Chi Minh trail through majestic limestone Karst and spectacular old grouth jungle. Stopping to see and visit some villages of Pako peoples, waterfall, being amazed at the tenacity of the Vietnamese during the us war, as this road follows the original Ho Chi Minh trail. Stay overnight in Khe sanh.
*Day 4: Khe Sanh- A Luoi- Prao:
-After visiting the site of the former marine combat base, Ta Con airbase we keep riding on the western Ho Chi Minh trail where the stilt houses of hill tribes Paco and Van Kieu still line the road. Before arriving ALuoi town where The Hamberger Hill belonged to have lunch we drive up to Ashau valley where Colin Powell was injured by a punji stick during the war. Then we continue along one of the more remote stretches of Ho Chi Minh trail, before staying overnight in Prao we will visit Atep village of Katu people
*Day 5: Prao- Hoi An.
we have 2 option at this day:
+ The 1st one: Keep driving on the western Ho Chi Minh trail then cross Bon river to explore My Son- Champa temples. Then we will stop at Tra Kieu village where is famous for the rice paper making to experience how to do that and finish in Hoi An ancient town.
+ The 2nd one: we take a small road out of Prao passing ethnic tribes then driving down Danang city: stop to swim at the famous China beach then walk up to explore the marble mountains and marble village. The tour is finished in Hoi An.
