Day 1: DMZ and the Ho Chi Minh Trail

Our journey begins in Quảng Trị province, home to the DMZ. We’ll stop at Hương Điền cemetery, one of the largest in Huế, to pay respects to fallen soldiers. In Quảng Trị town, we’ll explore relics from the intense 81-day battle between North and South Vietnam, including Long Hưng Church and the ‘Highway of Horror’.

We’ll then ride along the picturesque coastal road, passing fishing villages, salt farms, and shrimp farms. A highlight is the Vịnh Mốc tunnels, an underground village with three levels reaching depths of 12, 15, and 23 meters, stretching 1,701 meters in total.

Our next stop is the Bến Hải riverbanks and Hiền Lương bridge, where Vietnam was divided by the 1954 Geneva Convention. After lunch at Mieu base, we’ll ride 20 km up the eastern Ho Chi Minh trail to Highway 9, ending our day at the Khe Sanh combat base for an overnight stay.

Day 2: The Western Ho Chi Minh Trail

We start by visiting Khe Sanh base, Tà Cơn airport, and Highway 9 museum. Then, we embark on a 240 km journey along the western Ho Chi Minh trail. You’ll be amazed by the trail’s beautiful landscapes, lush rainforests, and spectacular mountain scenery. We’ll visit Pacô and Vân Kiều minority villages along the way, gaining insights into their unique cultures. We’ll spend the night at Sơn Trạch village, adjacent to Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park.

Day 3: Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park and Eastern Ho Chi Minh Trail

Our final day begins with a 30-minute boat ride on Son river to explore the water cave. After checking out, we’ll visit Paradise Cave, one of the world’s largest at 31.4 km long and 100 meters high. We’ll also explore Tam Co cave before stopping at km 0 of the western Ho Chi Minh trail.

Our journey concludes with a ride along the eastern Ho Chi Minh trail to Đồng Hới town, where you can catch a train or bus to continue your northern Vietnam adventure.
